Before applying for a job on a white
boat we recommend you complete your STCW 95 whether you have plenty of
boating experience or none at all.
STCW 95
An STCW 95 is an acronym for “Standard
of Training Certification and Watch Keeping Seafarers”.
It is an international standard
created by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and has the force
of the law in all signatory countries.
The course is made up of the following
modules:

Senior First Aid
If this course is undertaken in

it has to have endorsement by AMSA or you will only hold a state ticket
rather than an international ticket.

ENG1 is a Seafarers medical exam.
While it is not always required it is looked upon favorably by employers.
It is valid for 2 years and you can obtain it at medical centre worldwide.
